Holy shit, that makes me feel old.

On Key Glyphs vgm podcast a listener was talking about sharing a game from their childhood with their kid and ot was Bioshock. I was, "Bioshocked," by that.

Game Sack had a poll on twitter recently asking what everyones favorite consoles were, and the PS2 era was winning by a landslide.

We grandpas now.

I mean, I guess it's not surprising really.

I'm 28 and I'm too young to have been around for the 8 bit era. The Mega Drive is roughly the same age as me.

That said, it still blows my mind that I was a year or two off of starting university when the Wii came out.

Nah man, you just weren't gaming young enough.

I just turned 29 on the 10th, but I definitely grew up playing the NES during 2-5.

I turned 31 this year and grew up with the NES, then every Nintendo console since.

Not at all - my first console was the Master System when I was about 3 or 4.. It doesn't change the fact that the earliest major console generation I remember was the 16 bit one! I might have played some of the 8 bit titles, but I definitely missed the cultural relevance, and more importantly, the hype and the popularity of discussing those games on the playground.

Let's put it this way - I wouldn't have voted for 8 bit as my favourite generation in that poll of Game Sack's. I'd have probably gone for the N64 or Gamecube generation myself - because that's when I was really involved in the gaming landscape the most.

well, here's my take on the calendar...

Jan: Disgaea - I'm actually really excited to have an excuse to get into this one. I like that it's in January, too. As it may be something that I don't finish in a month but may keep installed for months following.

Feb: Sega Rally Championship - played this a bit on Saturn before, but never as much as Daytona, so I'm looking forward to focusing on it.

Mar: Gauntlet - eh, I liked it a lot as a kid. Not sure I'll like it as much now. But we'll see.

Apr: Legend of the Mystical Ninja - only on Nintendo consoles, so I won't be playing it.

May: Tomb Raider - whoever selected this one is smart and handsome. I played the Anniversary remake a few years back, so I'll dip back into the original which I haven't played in 20 years or so.

Jun: Pacmania - I knew nothing about this game until it was chosen. It looks pretty awesome actually.

Jul: Virtua Tennis - I love Virtua Tennis, and glad to have a reason to play it again.

Aug: Fantasy Zone - never been a big fan, but I'll give it a shot.

Sep: King's Quest V - I've always wanted to give this series a try. Glad to have a reason to.

Oct: Bioshock - meh. I tried to get into it again this year and just couldn't get excited over it. I'll use this month to play Bioshock 2 or one of the expansions or maybe to replay Infinite again I guess.

Nov: Breath of Fire 2 - only on Nintendo consoles so I won't be playing.

Dec: Weaponlord - what's wrong with Ack?

Emulate. It'll also let you get the patch that massively fixes the dialog; Capcom was not exactly a beacon of good localization.

Dec: Weaponlord - what's wrong with Ack?

I think December gives us enough time to start answering that question now and have the answer finished in time for Weaponlord.
