You have some major stones. I could not even imagine playing WC on a standard 3-button Genesis controller.

Right now I am in Dakota part 3. Escorting the Draymans wasn't as bad as I thought, but Kurasawa is next, and it appears we all need to dread part 2 there.

6-button. But yeah. Pretty impressive stones.

You probably have no choice but to lose Kurosawa. It takes a lot of luck to prevent destruction of the ship you're supposed to save. I never have. The impossible mission is Kurosawa II I think, so it's worth going if you want to play Kurosawa I.

In what's probably at least fifty playthroughs of the game I've beaten Kurasawa 2 twice myself.

The first time was sheer dumb luck due to a mistake made by the enemy AI.

I had the fighters lined up with the Ralari and taunted them. One of them afterburned to come after me without considering the capital ship directly in front of it which caused it to ram directly into the Ralari, causing severe damage to itself. I finished that one off with a volley or two of guns and unloaded my missiles on the others as fast as I could.

I haven't managed to get this to happen again but man, it was glorious.

Anyway it's cool to see both the winning and losing paths because of the little intermission sequences that play between systems. It really shows the effect you're having on the war. Success or failure to get important supplies to your troops changes the outcome of decisive battles.

Yeah, I have the 3rd game in the series on 3DO, and it's very confusing trying to remember all the button combos for the game. I think the A,B and C buttons have alternate functions depending if you're holding down L, R, select or some combination of two of those buttons.

I'll agree with that. Entering Kurasawa now. Saw 2 YouTube videos -- one video said your primary mission should be changed to "Eject" for Kurasawa 2, the other went through the mission flawlessly. I guess it's just a lot of luck (and taunts and afterburner usage)

I ended up losing that first Brimstone mission, but I've won the other two and still went on to Kurasawa. The first mission wasn't so hard. The dreaded mission two I lost, and the third one too. Man, I give up, escort missions just aren't my thing. It was hard hearing the captain's disappointed speech, though. I went back to Rostov, where I got one recon and two "destroy giant ships" missions, which were more my thing. I just got to Venice, so it looks like I'll see the good ending. Yay! :D

Haha, yeah. I've heard people describe the mission as being there just so you can have an excuse to earn the medal you get for ejecting.

I've been saving it for such an occasion, after getting frustrated enough as I will be soon for sure. Rostov doesn't look so bad after all, no escort missions!!!

Saved 2 games -- one at Kurasawa 2 should I ever have the inclination to try again after a few failed attempts, and one at Rostov 1 because that's where I'm probably gonna end up
