Generation 16 - A MegaDrive Retrospective Video Series

Post by Satoshi_Matrix »

Hey guys, something that's pretty awesome that you should all see. Greg Stewart, one of the hosts of the excellent Player One Podcast has started a historically focused web series devoted to Sega's 16-bit days. Greg is well spoken and this series is well produced. Make sure you check it out!

I'm digging it. Learning things about old systems is always nice especially when the person is well spoken. :)

    This guy is really detailed.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

This reminds me very much of the long-running and similar-paced Chrontendo series from Dr. Sparkle (at http://chrontendo.blogspot.com). Very nice.

Bumping this because it's a criminally under-viewed Youtube series. It's very informative and a must watch for anyone who wants to learn more about the Genesis and Mega Drive library beyond the surface level. He's up to episode 12 now with 13 in production.

Yeah, I already said how good it was and how similar it was to Chrontendo. It's still as good as it was years ago.

this & gamesack are amongst my favorite (non-CGR) YT shows, just a fantastic effort overall & i'm excited for ep 13 soon.

yes except despite being knowledgable Dr Sparkle has an anti-Sega bias a mile wide that makes some of his videos terrible to watch, for me - he shat all over Phantasy Star II for the most inane reasons, for one.
Dude raves about how overrated the dreamcast is...i'm grateful for stuff like ChronTurbo (whenever it comes around) but i could do without the rest.

Hi all! I'm the creator of this series and just wanted to stop in and mention that Episode 013 is now live! Hope I'm not breaking any forum rules here.
