I remember Retromags. I personally helped get almost 100 issues uploaded over there, either through presonal scanning or through editing other's work. Hopefully they can fix their problems and get back on track.

Friday February 12th 2010 brings us:

This week we have the 3rd issue in the Paul Davies series of Computer & Video Games magazines, which is in fact #170.
Notice that this issue is before the crew gave the magazine a full make-over,
and also that certain pages seem to be cropped in a strange way,
but this is how the magazine was originally printed and not an editing or scanning mishap.

The selected articles for this week are as follows:
Reviews for Virtua Fighter 2 and Virtua Cop, both for the Sega Saturn.
For the Playstation fans we have reviews for the classic Warhawk as well as Doom.

Today we have what could very well be the finest Official Sega Saturn Magazine issue we've released so far,
as the team takes the quality of the magazine to the very top in its latest issues.

An arcade feature on Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram as well as an interview with AM#2 about Fighting Vipers 2 for the arcade.

This week we are proud to present you with the third issue of the magnificent and fan favourite Super Play magazine.

Super Play 3 - january 1993 (UK)

The selected articles have a somewhat exotic flavour:
Reviews for Super Aleste/Space Megaforce and the Japan only Cosmo Gang: The Video.
A feature on SNES CD-ROM drive and the question if this is really the future for the SNES.
The final feature takes a look at Dragon Quest V and why it's Japan's most popular game series.

Super Aleste (SNES)
Cosmo Gang: The Video (SNES)
NES CD-ROM drive: the future of SNES games? (feature)
Dragon Quest V (SNES)

But this week we have another surprise in store as well.
After several days of coding and weeks of planning we are proud to present you with two new sections which can be found under the features tab on the main site.
The first new section is the hardware special section, where you will be able to find everything from in depth hardware articles up to detailed system launch features.
The second new section is the trade show section, which will incorporate a growing collection of past trade shows such as The Nintendo Shoshinkai show, better known as Space World in the west, Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and many more.

With this update we have also taken that time to create a FAQ page, which can be found here and also has a link on the news page.

As always, ENJOY!

As promised, this week brings a very special surprise to the Out-of-Print Archive community.

Today we are finally ready to reveal that some time ago,
we have been granted the privilege to release the back catalogue of magazines
from both Gollner Publishing as well as Maverick Magazines, thanks to Hugh Gollner himself.

To clarify a bit, this means magazines such as Amiga Action, ST Action, Mega Drive Advanced Gaming,
PC Player and Super Control, as well as a good chunk of MEGA and MegaTech issues, among several others.  :)

To celebrate this incredible day, (which makes us all happy beyond belief I might add)
we present you with the man that made this possible: Hugh Gollner.

Fittingly, this milestone release was worked on by all the main contributors.
And here it is: the very first official Out-of-Print Archive release.

Mega Drive Advanced Gaming 2 - october 1992 (UK)

In this second edition of Mega Drive Advanced Gaming (or MAG for short)
you will find several incredible Japanese import-only Mega Drive reviews:
Gleylancer, Magical Tarot and finally Twinkle Tale, as well as Thunderforce IV.

Magical Tarot (Mega Drive)
Thunderforce IV (Mega Drive)
Twinkle Tale (Mega Drive)

We'd like to emphasize how proud we are to be able to present you with this fine publication and hope that you will enjoy it just as much as we did.

As always, ENJOY!
