Re: My console systems and games collection.
Cheers to you, Thierry Henry!
The Laseractive with Sega PAC is my personal "Holy Grail" collectors item. If I'm not mistaken, that's the most expensive Sega Genesis one can buy.
That Mega Cart V1.X is new to me, but i recognize those screens. Those are the different BIOS screens. I only know about this from the seedy world of emulation. If you load a different region BIOS into Kega Fusion, you get a different BIOS Screen. I had no idea there was real-world hardware which would allow the same function. Cool stuff.
You have the most extensive collection of systems on this forum, Thierry Henry. Now let's see a few more games!

Thank you kindly.

I dunno.
I mean it could rather well be one of those hybrid systems like the Sega TeraDrive or either the Amstrad Mega PC ?

It's a great way to enjoy region free gaming on the Sega/Mega CD.
So far it's worked with every game I've used it with.
FYI, this is where I got it from: http://www.tototek.com/store/index.php? ... cts_id=162
Maybe a little pricey, but I reckon it's worth it. At least for me it is.

Oh I don't know about that.
There are few folks over here with mighty impressive collections of retro console systems.
Now let's see a few more games!
Ok but there's not much to show in the following pic.
Game-wise it's really bare-bones, but I'm still working on that SNES/Super Famicom collection.
So a mixture of a few US SNES/Super Famicom/PAL SNES games, (one or two decent games there like Demon's Blazon, The Magical Quest, etc)
as well as a SNES Game Saver cart, a couple of Super Gameboys, an AD-29 SNES region adapter cart (to the far right), and two Game Genie's. WRT the latter, the one Game Genie is compatible only with the earlier SNES consoles, so I got the other one to compensate for that.
My SNES/Super Famicom console systems,
And Retro-Bit related items, (as well as a Wii Super NES Classic Controller),
so top left to right:
RetroGen - play Genesis games on your SNES.
RetroPORT - play NES Games on your SNES.
Wireless SNES controller.
Below that a RetroDuo portable, incl 2 player adapter, and a NES cart adapter.
It's a very good portable unit, imo. Have had no issues with it thus far.

An update to my Saturn stuff,
Managed to find a PAL system to go with my US and JP consoles.
A couple arcade sticks, and a few more games as well.

Awesome collection man. Lots of collectables to drool over.
Re: My console systems and games collection.
Is there an active community of collectors in South Africa or do you buy these online? Thats where you are at isn't it so?
Your collection is in a very nice and in mint condition.
What are the 2 carts next to WCW and Hexen?

Most have been bought online (eBay and such). Some I've managed to find on local sites, or at estate sales.
These past few years locally there has been an increased tendency to get into retro gaming collecting.
I wouldn't yet call it "active" as such, but it's getting there.

That's right. I'm in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Thank you.

Worms Armageddon, and Xena Warrior Princess.
And,
An update to my GC collection,
A few doubles in there acquired from a few game lot purchases.
But I guess at least most of them happen to be different region/packaged versions of those games.
For example:
The Metroid Prime games,
One is the original retail version. The other is the "Players choice", and the one next to that is the "Bonus Disc" version.
The one Zelda Wind Waker game is the Limited Edition.
The one Mario Kart is the 'Not For Resale' version.
The one Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader game is PAL region, the other US NTSC.
Ditto with the MGS Twin Snakes. One PAL, one US NTSC.
The one Luigi's Mansion is the PAL version. The other JP NTSC.
So weirdly, without me purposely looking into acquiring the different region/versions of those games, they've somehow fallen into my lap, so to speak.

Re: My console systems and games collection.
On a bit of a roll since not posting for a couple years in this thread.
So an update to my Wii collection,
Got these items below relatively cheaply,
My still rather modest collection of Wii games,
Nice Metroid Prime Trilogy Collectors Ed included in there,
And that SMG2 game came with a cardboard slip cover and a kind of tutorial type DVD.
Not sure if you guys in the States received this version as well?
BTW, that white Wii console in the first pic is my original NTSC US system from back in the day.
When I was setting everything up I found I still had the original invoice/slip from when a mate of mine brought it over for me from the States.
Can't believe over eight years have already passed since that time.
And,
Update of my Xbox collection,
As well as an update wrt the PS1,
And an NES/Famicom, SNES/Super Famicon update,
CD-i update,
Famiclone update,

they are truly impressing me at first sight. How long you collected them all? How to activate them for sure? Glad to see your answer!

Wow, Circuit City was actually able to procure Wiis in 2007? That bankruptcy was right around the corner.
