Emulators for the GBA -- What's The Deal?

Post by racketboy »

On the same note as this post:

I'd like to know what's going on in the GBA emulation world.
I'm assuming there is a flurry of different ways to play there: the GBA, the DS, and the Cube's GBA Player.

With all these possibilities, I think it would be cool to put together a guide for these as well.

You mean projects like PocketNES? The GBA scene is pretty much dead. There's some homebrew games every now and then, but I haven't heard of any new emus in years.

So the NES is the only worthwhile thing you can emulate?

Nah, I tried out the emus for Master System/Game Gear and Gameboy (black and white). They work just as well. I think there's more out there.

Game Boy Color is pretty decent too, although not perfect. I have a flashcart for my Game Boy micro. It's a really nice way to carry around a bunch of games in your pocket for use while you're waiting on getting your car fixed, etc. I've got a lot of GBA games on it along with the NES and GBC emulator.

BTW, I think this is my first post. Just wanted to say I love the site, I check it out every day!
