Best xbox gamepad?
Best xbox gamepad?
I just ordered 2 SF2 Anniversary gamepads for my xbox, and then I looked around at some reviews (wrong order, I know), and I found some really good reviews for the pad, and some really bad ones. I like fighting games and shmups, but I'm not really into joysticks, so what do people think the best xbox pad is?

SF 2 pads
I own them, and they are great for fighting games, emulators, and in general old games, but horrible for enything else since they lack the dual analog sticks and analog triggers. This makes modern games actually unplayable. In fact it makes many of the emulators unplayable such as Xsnes9x, which requires the analog sticks to bring up menus. Personally though, playing super metroid with this sf 2 pad is actually better than an original super nintendo pad, and playing Street fighter with these is better than a saturn pad. Its a really fun joystick, and I also purchased a playstation one and use it as my dreamcast controller for all fighting games.
However, be aware that you cannot use it for almost any new games for the xbox. Therefore that abolutely limits its usefulness, even in some emulators.

3 things.
1. I don't give a shit about xbox games, except perhaps the ones that *do* work with the sf2 controller, such as MvC2, CvS2, and SFIII.
2. the new snes emu, zsnexbox or whatever, can remap the menu button to something other than the right thumb click. I've done this, and I love it as well.
3. I basically got this thing for FBA-XXX, but I broke my install and been busy with a few things. I hope I can map the menu button on that one as well...
Thanks for the reply, alonzobots.
