I just realized/learned that all those SNK Classics Vol 0 games were released as minis. Keep in mind I bought ALL OF THE MINIS and also have the physical import (Korean version). Just never made the connection that they were from the same set.

On the positive side, Parodius Portable is right around $50 now - that seems to have come down in price IIRC.

I just feel compelled to argue against this one. I'm totally open to visual novels and titles that originated in RPG Maker, I love anime-style character-designs and supernatural horror: I should have been the target audience. I hated this game.
First, the gameplay is frustratingly slow. There are parts when you die for seemingly random reasons (sometimes you die from touching a ghost, sometimes you die from NOT touching a ghost, sometimes it feels like you die from going into rooms in the wrong order) and you have to go through several minutes of the same unskippable dialog each time. IT'S A SLOG.
Second, it's gross. I mean, I recommended Burunyan-man, so I'm not too easily skeeved-out to the point of feeling icky, but this game does that. There are scenes where the art is seemingly focused on scoping some girl's camel toe as she chokes to death on her own ghost-possessed tongue. There's a story element about how the little sister character (who claims to REALLY love her brother) needs to pee (multiple times) and ends up taking off her panties partway through the game. I FELT GROSS PLAYING THIS.

It was just a way grosser, way less pleasant game than I expected. I started with excitement and enthusiasm and by the time I was done, I was ready to never play another Corpse Party game again.

But hey, it's got sequels and remakes and a movie so clearly some folks like it! If it sounds like something that appeals to you... well, you've been warned.

LOL I enjoyed Corpse Party, need to finish that.

A couple more imports to look into are the Euro version of Ridge Racer 2 (which is the finest version of post V, modern Ridge Racer) and the JP version of Darius Burst (fun shmup time).

I do LOVE Silent Hill, and I absolutely adored Shattered Memories (I played it on Wii). I think the only one in the series that I don't have is Origins. I know this is a PSP thread, but would you recommend playing that one on PSP or on PS2? I tend to go for console versions, but you guys seem to have such glowing recommendations for the PSP.

Origins was originally developed for PSP, and was ported later to PS2. I say go with PSP version as it was the target development platform.

If you're a fan of survival horror, this is also available on PSP:

Beat me to it, agree on all aspects. :)

Edit: Also Silent Hill Experience UMD is pretty sweet.

I've got the first Obscure for Xbox and Obscure 2 for Wii. I'm a HUGE fan of the Wii and the Wii U, so those are the platforms I always games for if it's an option.
