Not Mainstream PS3 games advice thread

Post by wclem »

So I have built up about 300 PS3 games, minus three sports games most of them are of the RPG and adventure type.

I would like to know what you guys have played that has not been a headline, top game of the year type game and what you thought about it. The non-defining of the PS3 games. Like the lone Spyro game or something like Painkiller Hell and Damnation. Painkiller was released and I never even knew it LOL. Those are examples, but I would like to hear yours and what you thought of them.

If this has been done please delete.

Puppeteer was incredible, but how was Majin?

Also, a game about Tornado's? Is that possible? :D

I have it...but I have not spent much time with it. :? It is well-reviewed, however. Tornado Outbreak was developed by former members of Sucker Punch (i.e., the team behind the Sly Cooper games). It is well-reviewed, and although it is very inexpensive, it is also very hard to find on the PS3. (The Wii version is much easier to locate.)

I hope you have Valkyria Chronicles. If not, then get that. Definitely get that.

Yes you do.

3D Dot Game Heroes was a really fun game as well. Dunno if you have it already or not.

3D Dot Game Heroes is one of my favorite games on the PS3. It's as close as you can ever get a an old school Zelda experience. But, it can be really hard.

Also the Disgaea games are always amazing.

Very nice collection! I didn't think anyone actually had more PS3 games than me (I think I'm approaching 200).

A more recent and definitely not mainstream release would be Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All-star Battle, which came out today.

If you're looking into some more uncommon titles, have you considered imports? I've got quite a few that are actually very interesting. Additionally, a lot of games received physical releases in Japan or Europe as well which I've been slowly adding to my collection.

Some of the imports I have off the top of my head:
Puyo Puyo Tetris (JPN)
Wipeout HD Fury (KO)
Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty (EU)
Siren Blood Curse (EU)
E.X. Troopers (JPN)
Vampire Resurrection (JPN)
One Piece Pirate Warriors (EU)
Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs. (JPN)
Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box (EU)

Some other ones that I'd like to add:
Short Peace : Ranko Tsukigime's Longest Day (EU version, in English)
Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara
Ketsui PS3
Saint Seiya Santuary Battle (EU)
Mamoru-kun
Monkey Island Collection
Yakuza (Ryu Ga Gotoku) Kenzan
Sengoku Basara HD Collection
Okami HD (full English subs)

And there are tons more!

The PS3 is such an awesome console and it's having quite the year in terms of niche releases in the US.
