The PS4 thread
Re: The PS4 thread
Hardly, the point was a back handed comment about unique titles, that's it. I haven't owned one of those probably 2 years now. Not saying I wouldn't again if I found one cheap enough I'd be a fool to ignore.

I'm just saying, you asked how it was negative, and saying something's stupid is typically seen as a negative remark.

And they haven't even drop crazy shmups yet!
You make it sound like it's maybe in the plans or something?
I wish we could get some epic Technosoft collection.
Wish I had the answer but definitely have a hunch.
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

Re: The PS4 thread
So... with the new announcement today, I'm hoping someone more tech savvy than me might be able to help me figure something out.
I've been waiting on getting a PS4 for a few reasons, namely-
1. Get caught up on PS3
2. Waitin' on that price drop
3. Making sure I have enough savings that don't get eaten up by going out, drinking, or emergencies
4. And waiting to see what the Neo (PS4Pro officially) was going to offer.
Saying that, is the Pro worth the price to give for someone who doesn't care about graphics that much and is fine with 30 fps in games? I'm just trying to get a feel, because I have no idea. I'm thinking I can get an OG model PS4 or one of the slims for a lower price and just ride things out.
My only fear is that there may be a handful of games that aren't compatible with non-Pro PS4s (although Sony has sworn up and down this won't happen) or that the games will play on plain PS4s, but do so horrendously to the point of it not being worth it.
So, any opinions here?

I find it EXTREMELY unlikely that there will be games that won't play on the regular PS4, but it is entirely possible that games will pull a Hyrule Warriors Legends and run on the older hardware but - like you said - run like garbage.
Here's my question for our more tech-savvy and in-the-know friends - is it worth the upgrade if you don't have a 4K TV yet? I'm all about frame rate and textures, but is it worth dropping the $400 if you still cap out at 1080p? I've only seen PushSquare's write up, so I don't know if they mentioned it in the press conference, but will PS VR run better with the new hardware? Common sense tells me "Yes," but I've learned that technology doesn't always fit what I consider to be common sense.

I do fear for it. My thought process with it was (assuming I can swap harddrives on PS4, or at least transfer from one to the other) that I could just ride it out on a $250-$300 PS4 until that point, and then catch up later. I'm hoping Sony wouldn't be stupid enough to allow that to happen, but with more and more of the PC side of things leaking into consoles, I can't help but worry.

Re: The PS4 thread
It might work and be wise if you don't already own one. But I've seen 4k tv's on display next to regular ones at bestbuy and honestly I couldn't honestly tell you the difference between 4k and our current standard of 1080 or whatever it is. We're at that point that the line is so blurred between these upgrades that it just feels incremental that I don't know how anyone can tell the difference. I mean i could tell a difference between 480, 720, and 1080 but now
Unless there's some major power difference I don't see a reason to go for pro...

Re: The PS4 thread
Does anyone know if the PS4 Pro can support external hard drives for more than just back-ups and videos? I already have almost 2 TB worth of data on mine, and I HIGHLY doubt Nyko's data bank will work with the PS4 Pro, so my 5 TB 3.5" HDD isn't going to help me. I may hold off on the Pro until Nyko makes a data bank for it, although I REALLY want the extra horsepower for PS VR.

I'd hold off and see if and how it improves the VR experience first...
