Recommend Ps2 LAN games
I just got Two Playstation 2 systems, Networks adapters and a Cross-link Lan cable and two Televisions. All i need now is to get some fun games! I already have OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast that im looking forward to play as soon as i get the cross-link cable in the mail.
But what other good lan games are there? Got any to recommend?
Here is a list of all the games that have LAN support on the Playstation 2 (scroll down to "LAN games" at the end of the page) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Pl ... line_games

Re: Recommend Ps2 LAN games
I definitely recommend the Timesplitters games. They're so much fun to play with a bunch of friends in the same room.
And I've always really wanted to try a big Gran Turismo 4 LAN party but it's never worked out.
I was really surprised by that list though. I had no idea Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3, 4, Underground 1, and Call of Duty 2 could be played on LAN. *checks farther up list* Wow! Tony Hawk 3-American Wasteland all went online and are still playable? Is that true? And I had no idea those first couple console Call of Duty's had multiplayer. I have the first one and know that it didn't, but that's really weird that the second one had LAN but no online support. Although I guess that's not the most unheard of thing in the world...

I would i.link Battle Gear 2. It is one of my favorite racing games.
I only have 1 ps2. Should get another just for that.

Does Out run 2006 Coast 2 Coast really have an offline LAN 8 multiplayer mode?
wow!
Also was the lan feature removed from the Japanese version 'Outrun2SP'?

I believe the Japanese version gutted all multiplayer, including online.
If you can decipher the back of the box.

Re: Recommend Ps2 LAN games
I only have that Japanese version, never saw anything that looks like lan play.
I just downloaded the manual for the coast to coast version, but it doesn't really explain what modes there are. I've now got 2 LAN adapters and 2 ps2's and I want to try this. I already tried i.link with Tokyo Road Rage, which works great. you can play in 4 car races. 2 of which are player 1 and player 2. That is awesome.
So I guess you can't use a cross cable

What modes are there to be played in local LAN? There's this video.

While we're on the subject... It seems to me Japanese versions of Ratchet & Clank 3 and 4 also removed network support.

Tribes Aerial Assault. And If I remember correctly, you can play multiple PS2s of one disc, if you swap between stages. Just the discless consoles will not have music.

To set up a ps2 lan environment, you do not need a computer.
You do of course need the network disc.
I had some old router/hub thing laying around. Never thought I'd ever use it again, haha
I set it up like this:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/455854
Works great with outrun Coast2coast
I had one ps2 running from hdd and the other just from disc.
I played on PAL ps2's, but both with the US version of coast 2 coast.
