I like these spectacle fighter/hack-n-slash games but it seems N3II suffers from having an obligatory horrible storyline like virtually every other game of its calibre. This, or Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage? Choices, choices..

IGN also gave God Hand an extremely low score. I'm not a huge God Hand fan, but many people would disagree with that score. Also, there is a built in bias against these games. As games in the Dynasty Warriors series continue to do well in the east, they also continue to get crappy reviews in the westPulsar_t wrote:This game is rubbish, even IGN gave it 4/10.. Video reviews are still not a replacement for text-based ones. I recently watched a review that praised Sniper: Ghost Warrior even though it's a pile of dung. Fncking amateurs.

God Hand, is, IMHO, a very fun game, so yes, treat every review with a grain of salt. Try it for yourselves. I might wait until it is $20 before I take the plunge.Gamerforlife wrote:IGN also gave God Hand an extremely low score.
The Dynasty Warriors series does require some skill actually, but it all depends on how much you want to get out of the game. They start out ridiculously easy, but if you want to get all the powerful items and weapons, levelling will be required but it only accomplishes so much. Getting good equipment often requires you to play on the hardest possible difficulty setting AND play the hardest levels AND undergo a series of self-imposed handicaps that are required to unlock whatever item you are going for. Some of the Warriors games even PENALIZE you for being to levelled by making the enemies MUCH stronger to compensate.bladerunner wrote:My brother is a huge beat em up fan with a focus on Dynasty Warriors-esque games, so he of course picked this game up. I tried it out the other night. It is honestly not that bad, though I do feel that it got somewhat repetitive, and I only played through the first two levels (a few hours worth of gameplay). From my relatively brief encounter with the game, I would give it a 6/10. Again, I would need a more thorough play through. I still feel that so much of these games are not really skill, but rather just playing enough to level up and thus beat tough areas/bosses.

This is a terrible, terrible reason to dismiss it.Pulsar_t wrote:This game is rubbish, even IGN gave it 4/10..
Oh god, I remember hers being one that took me a lot of tries. You know I think it's a shame they got rid of those purple element death weapons from Dynasty Warriors 3. Considering all the work it takes just to get those damn weapons, I liked getting something overpowered in return. Certainly made getting some of the others weapons in DW 3 quite a bit easier.Ack wrote: And anybody who believes the Dynasty Warriors games are easy should go get Yue Ying's ultimate weapon in Dynasty Warriors 4.
