The Official RB Virtual Trade Box - NOW PICKING: mjmjr25

by aaron Fri Aug 08, 2014 11:41 pm

Currently Picking: mjmjr25

Welcome to the Racketboy Community Trade Box!

How Does It Work?
: Members add items to the box by posting in the thread. When your item is chosen, make contact with the member who has chosen your item and arrange to ship. Once this is done, you get the next pick and the process begins again.

Guidelines for Participation
: You must have at least +5 feedback on the site to participate.
: At this time, the Trade Box is only open to members in the US and Canada.
: One item is the minimum requirement to participate; however, the more items you add, the more likely you are to get a pick.
: By the same token, the more popular, sought-after, and just all-around cool your item is, the more like you are to get a pick.
: There may be no more than two of the same item listed in the box at once.
: Please make your pick as soon as you can after you've arranged shipment of your item! If you don't make your pick within 72 hours (3 days), you will automatically receive the oldest item in the box.
: This should go without saying, but participation in the box is at your own risk. If your person flakes, that is between the two of you, and should not affect the picking process.
: If there is a problem, please message the trader and then message me. I will do my best to help. I will remove users from the box if they become a problem.

Ground Rules for Items
: All items should be in VG to VG+ condition or better.
: All disc based items MUST include at least the original case and artwork. Cartridge games may be loose. Manuals are not required.
: Items need to be worth at least $20 in current market value before shipping costs.
: Gift cards/certificates and digital codes are allowed provided they meet the above value requirements.
: Systems, handhelds, and accessories (controllers, memory cards, etc) are allowed provided they meet the above value requirements.
: Bundles of two and three games for the same system are allowed, if they add up to at least $20 in value and follow a certain theme. (e.g. NES Capcom Platformers, PS2 Shmups, etc). Get creative! Accessories and games can be bundled together, as well.
: All items MUST to be in the box for 30 days before they can be removed. When removing an item, please post a notice of your intent to remove it in the thread and it will be removed.
: Please use the following format when adding an item:
Code: Select all
(Platform) Game Title (condition note) - your user name (today's date mm/dd)

For example:
Code: Select all
(Wii) Super Mario Sunshine 2 (CIB) - Racketboy (6/15)

If you fail to ship an item, either due to sheer negligence or because you no longer have the item to ship, you'll get a strike. If you accumulate three strikes, you'll be asked to cease participation in the box.

Current Strikes:

Let me know what you guys think. I made some slight modifications to a couple of the guidelines, most notably these:

If you don't make your pick within 72 hours (3 days), you will automatically receive the oldest item in the box.

Accessories and games can be bundled together, as well.

i felt like these changes were in the best interest of keeping the box moving forward. but i'm open to other ideas. i also removed the items that folks in the other thread said they wanted removed and i believe i added all of the new items that were added in the other thread as well.

i'll be adding some stuff this weekend, i'm sure.

So just to clarify, I have 13 feedback and I have something I could add to the list - a CIB Bio Hazard Battle for Genesis, goes for about $30. I also see something on the list I want, but I can't make a pick off the trade list until somebody picks mine? How does it get started then? Seems like everyone is stuck in a loop waiting on each other.

Disclaimer: I just woke up and my brain is still fuzzy.

Yeah, by adding an item, you get a potential pick. The person picking chooses an item, then the person whose item they picked gets to choose next.

So by having more items in the box, your chance of getting a pick is greater.

basically, yeah, you're waiting until your item is picked. the idea is that in order to keep the items of a higher quality, users will add more sought-after items in order to get picked sooner so they can choose what they want.

Should we put a link to this thread on the old one so people know it's moved? Or did I miss it?
