So first of all I have never bought anything from amazon. Now browsing the amazon games, is it possible if you order from amazon you get like platinium/essentials games and not the orginal or do they state it clearly if its one of the other versions?

I would buy from amazon uk if it makes a difference
Thanks

It's up to the individual sellers to indicate whether or not it's original or greatest hits. Most sellers tend to mention it, so look for that in the description.

You can always message a seller and ask. They're generally pretty agreeable.

This. Tho it really depends on the volume of sales that the seller has. If it's large, and you're asking about something cheap, they might not even have time to respond to you, let alone caring to.

Never assume based on the picture or the item information page or even the title. These get changed around so often by people who have no idea what they're doing. (I've seen a listing w/ a picture for a completely different item w/ a completely different title several times.) Only go by what the individual seller describes their item as. And not all sellers take the time to do that, particularly on items that it might not seem like they need to (listing the original version of a game before the Platinum Hits is released means most seller won't list it as being the original version b/c it's the ONLY version available).

Unless stated a chance of which version. As others mentioned, be wary and ask if not sure. Everyone always wants to get the original, not the Greatest Hits or Platinum Edition. Even though the later budget Greatest Hits release is an assumed less value, there are a few that have extra levels and features. Not sure of any in the Platinum line, worth researching before a purchase though.

I've bought games items directly from amazon, and between me placing the order and receiving the item, they changed the item page from regular to greatest hits (i'm assuming because they ran out of 1st print). I ended up with a greatest hits version, BUT they paid for me to ship it back to them and refunded my order, no questions asked.

I'm not sure about the individual seller policy though.
