Well, for Metroid Prime Trilogy - in the U.S. at least, dunno about other regions - there was no plain white case version otherwise. It's a different SKU entirely.
Xenoblade I would guess is less of a thing since only Gamestop was the only retailer to really offer it in the first place (I guess the Nintendo store may have had it too, as they did sell it online).

I think last time this came up, the quotes posted regarding Gamestop doing reprints were not official enough or something.
My impression is that they were reprinted, and that Gamestop has reprinted other titles as well.

Nice list, but they should do Kirby Dream Collection and Return to Dreamland as well.

Either way, they tried to get the eBay prices at first, but I noticed they didn't sell. The demand had passed, and both came back down to earth, thankfully.

I think I don't have the US version, still, although for some reason it's pinging around in my head that I might have snagged it at some point. I imported just before they announced it for stateside release. I also have the PAL version of Pandora's Tower, and it's the cool big-box version of that one, so I don't feel bad about not having the US release at all. :)

I'm in the same boat. I was really surprised to see Galaxy 2 at $30-40 a couple weeks ago when I got a Wii.

I actually seek out re-releases because the game is usually patched and updated by that time. In the age of day-one patches in the GBs, I'll always look for a game that hopefully has that sort of fix applied on-disc. Not all re-releases do this, but it's worth a shot anyway. It's the same with DLC, I'll usually wait and grab the GOTY or Complete edition a year or so later if I know the game is going to have major add-ons.

I, personally, don't care if it's an original release or a "Greatest Hits" or whatever. I just get whatever's cheapest. If they're the same price, then sure, I'll try to get the original release, but I really don't care at all. The cheaper I get a game, the more games I can buy.

Really I'm all for more rereleases and/or compilations so glad that reprints and ports seem to be getting more and more popular recently.

My only gripe is that often (but by no means every time) the rereleases get sold for full retail value. I paid $60 for the game's original release on PS3; I should not be asked to pay $60 or even $50 for a vaguely polished rerelease. The only game in that type of situation that I thought was at all worth it was The Last of Us because it included the DLC and having it in 1080p at 60 fps vs 720p at 30 fps actually makes a DRAMATIC difference in the feel of that particular game IMO. That and it's generally just a fucking masterpiece.

It's an insult more or less. I was annoyed when they put out that Uncharted Trilogy for $60, yet when God of War 3 and FF10/10-2 remasters popped out they hit at $40. I waited until I bumped into a QVC sale on accident I saw on google.com for $30 and I snapped it up. Patience pays when remaster rates get greedy.

Yeah. Uncharted was worth it, IMO, since that averaged out to be an enhanced port for $20 each, but I won't pay more than $30 at the very most for a port of a last-gen game (again, with the exception of The Last of Us).

And you're absoultely right, it's extremely insulting.
