Yoshi Wooly World

Post by ZeroAX »

So of the various games I bought with my Wii U this one has been my favorite

Image

I've only beaten the first world so far. I'm loving this game.

It's the first time we got a good sequel to yoshi's island. It's not really an evolutionary sequel like Super Mario Bros 3, 64 or galaxy. It's more of a direct sequel that adds a bunch of neat ideas to the mix (and of course a gorgeous graphic style)

I love all the various colored yoshis you unlock, though my only amiibo (shulk) just unlocked a really ugly one for me xD.

If I have a complaint about the game, is that so far it's too easy (which I can excuse cause I know these kind of games usually ramp up in the later worlds), and the boss battles are just so unimaginative (that unfortunately I'm afraid is here to stay).

Anyone else currently playing this game?

I'm currently playing, and enjoying. Glad to see other people are too.

The difficultly increases. And like you'd expect, too. It doesn't throw really hard to beat/avoid enemies at you. The level design just takes off.

Speaking of the level design, you come across these level themes that you think, "Oh, I'll see a few more of this type of level throughout the game." But no, I'm maybe halfway through the game, or further, and I haven't seen a recycled idea yet.

The bosses... I think they're as they should be. They get a little more interesting as you go, in my opinion.

I'm really excited to play the game, but I might have to wait a bit to get it since I'm still pretty ticked off at Nintendo for releasing only ~20 mega yoshis for each Toys R Us. :x (why Toys R Us in the first place??)

Yeah, that might be a dumb reason especially since I found out I could order a Japanese one online, but I get annoyed by silly things :|

I have noticed that a lot of people complain that the game features an easy mode and that the two player mode can make the game a whole lot easier. Rule of thumb, if you want the game to be hard, don't do the things that make it easier!

There is a reason why I don't do two player Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze... because it makes the game SO MUCH HARDER! To a point where it is incredibly frustrating. I don't want that. I want to enjoy the game, so I set the difficulty at a point where I am happy... with a single player play through.

I've never understood that either...especially since the closest thing to me if it's still open(which I think is a NO is a babys r us). Toys r us is kinda like Kmart for me right now it may have some decent stuff but any decent location is too far away and online is a hassle half the time....

Yeah I've never really liked Toys R Us. All the ones I've been to were kind of dumpy. Plus there only seems to be one store in the Seattle area, so there would of been no way for me to get a yoshi without lining up early in the morning :/ I would of too if I had known the numbers were THAT few.

Apparntly it was worse in Canada though with only ~8 per store o_o

I have to admit, I bought this on release with some reluctance, but it is pretty darn good. It is moderately challanging to 100% the levels as you go along. It's certainly a lot better than the new Mario Tennis or Amiibo Festival games.

Are there a lot of levels? I hated how we went from like 40 something or more in Yoshi's Island, to 6 or whatever in Yoshi's Story. I haven't liked Yoshi games since Island...

There were 54 levels in Yoshi's Island (60 in the GBA version). Yoshi's Story has 24. Yoshi's Island DS has 50. Yoshi's New Island has 54.

There are 55 in Yoshi's Woolly World.
