Thanks to my Blissbox 4 play, and Project 64 2.2, I have started to replay through the N64 library with some anti aliasing. But there are so many times you can play through the main stays or the hidden but talked about. So I started going off the beaten path alittle.
Recently I have been playing through Waialae Country Club: True Golf Classics based on Mjmjr25s recommendation, Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, and what is possible in Last Legion UX (which is an awesome Virtual On clone that was not emulated at all until recently). Alot of these games I had played for a few minutes then gave up on, so my goal now is to beat them and try multiplayer if possible.
So what are some of yalls favorite lesser known titles on the system and why?

I always loved Snowboard Kids. Like Mario Kart except on ski slopes, with wacky characters and great music.

Wonder Project J2
-A really cool adventure game that is a sequel to the SFC original.
-It's available in English: http://www.romhacking.net/translations/1074/
Rakuga Kids
-Fun fighting game done in a doodle style with lots of humor.
-Not related to the amazing Rakugaki Showtime on PS1 though.
Last Legion UX
-Mech battling game kinda similar to Virtual On.
Destruction Derby 64
-A very well made game that is what it says on the tin.
-Made by LOOKING GLASS STUDIOS so you know it's good!
Knife Edge: Nose Gunner
-Pretty decent rail shooter with good multiplayer.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Fastbilly, considering we've combed through the fighters and first person shooters in the N64 library and I know you're not into the horror stuff like I am, how about I channel Fat Brian for a bit to tell you that Buck Bumble is the greatest game of all time. Personally I've never played it, but seriously, Fat Brian raves about how much he loves it, and admittedly it's not a game I see many folks talk about.

I found Chameleon Twist to be a flawed but fun experience. It's only an hour or 2 long too, so it should be a nice quick one to play through.
Mischief Makers is often forgotten, but it's full of the really quirky atmosphere that Treasure are great at. I love the way Treasure mix up level mechanics, and this game does that a ton.
Turok Rage Wars is my favourite multiplayer FPS on N64 - I like it more than Perfect Dark or Goldeneye. I especially love the stupid weapon selection - the Inflator is a classic.,
Wetrix is a pretty quirky puzzle game but damn is it hard. There's no game quite like it though, that's for sure.
There's other stuff I like, but it's probably just stuff I feel is a underrated (like Jet Force Gemini) rather than stuff that's lesser known.
Other peoples suggestions
I'm not a fan of Snowboard Kids personally. People who dislike Mario Kart's weapons haven't seen anything as horrid as Snowboard Kid's parachutes. I found it a bit charmless tbh.
I'd love to play Wonder Project J2, but I'd want to play it in English on real hardware, and those Everdrives ain't cheap. I at least have the SNES game to try at some point anyhow.
Buck Bumble is a game I've genuinely only heard middling thing about at best, but I'd love to have a second opinion. Isn't the Starfox guy behind it or something?

On a side note; I am interested in people's opinions on Shadowgate 64: Trials of the Four Towers.

I believe mine would go something like this:
"Anything with Shadowgate in the title is worth at least checking out."

Wonder Project J2 is one of the best N64 games. Beautiful 2D graphics, quirky dialogue and story, plus the girl is cute too. Its predecessor ain't half bad either.
There are lots of other hidden import gems like...

Dezaemon 3D
A game where you build your own shmup!

Fushigi no Dungeon: Fuurai no Shiren 2 - Oni Shuurai! Shiren Jou!
Yeah, pretty well-known (and awesome) series but this installment basically went unnoticed. A nice companion for Torneko: The Last Hope on PlayStation.

Getter Love!!
A bishōjo game on N64? Yes plz.

Re: Favorite N64 Lesser Known Titles
The best part of Buck Bumble is the attract music (that also plays in game occasionally). Buck to the buck, buck to the buck, buck to the buck buck bumble. Gameplay is "ok".
The JP titles listed are decent by all counts, but most are text heavy. Rakuga Kids looks cool and a bit like Waku Waku 7 - but the input is delayed - it's fun to mess around with, but competitive fighting it is not.
Hidden gems beyond the hidden gems; trying to think of games that are legitimately fun, and haven't shown up on a "best of the N64" or an "N64 hidden gems" list:
Charlie Blast's Territory - a sokoban box moving puzzle game. Fun, challenging toward later stages.
Lode Runner 3D - mostly puzzle solving, but part survival horror (seriously). You are chased by death and must run and unlock certain doors and portals in order to open the clear portal. It's a really fun and overlooked game.
Iggy's Reckin Balls - this is a bit like Uniracers and if you enjoyed that, you'll probably enjoy this. Nothing amazing, but good multi-player fun that isn't the same ole' same ole'.

Re: Favorite N64 Lesser Known Titles
Personally I love two racing games on that console. Road Rash 64 and Beetle Adventure Racing!
Road Rash is downright comical, and I went back and played it recently and still found it enjoyable. If you just want some cheap laughs by punching people off their bikes at high speeds, you can't go wrong. My favorite is jamming people's spokes with the weapons you have or kicking someone into oncoming traffic, causing some sort of violent wreck in the process. It's got four player multiplayer too, so things can, and often do, get out of hand.
Beetle Adventure Racing is just a solid racing title, featuring the fad car of the 90's, the new Volkswagen Beetle. It plays great, looks pretty good, and has a nice variety of courses.
