The game is supposed to be a Europe release only, yet I bought two at Gamestop for two bucks each some time ago. The bottom carts in the picture, they do have the "PAL" Europe logo though.

I'm afraid I've never seen that release before.

I have to admit though, even the packaging alone makes it pretty tempting. Its very sharp.

Bootleg aside, I'd be surprised if the game didn't play fine. GBA boots are everywhere of course, but if someone is taking that much care to make this one presentable (and be transparent about its background rather than try to pass it off as official) then I'd trust it as much as any other repro maker.

But that's just me.

Hey I'd like to share on this, you could also aaron update your topic to include this EUR game too. Alien Hominid -- http://www.ebay.com/itm/131597789447

The guy has been selling Pokemon fakes and if it wasn't for the fact the dude/chick is ignoring my ebay case against them entirely both from the US and UK office I'd think it was an accident. Pokemon fakes are overly common and I had never heard or seen of an Alien Hominid fake.

That said, it's quality. I was duped which isn't easy, at least not in person, online it's a bit harder. I went and found a really nice picture of a legit copy of the game and the differences are so minute it's hard to tell. The finest print under the corporate icon and the AGB code are like a hair width if that smaller than legit. All the emblems and the rest are there. The shell appears to be right. The only oddity I had hit was it had a rough edge on the protruding lip on the side but I've had that before on some games where it's just rough so I thought nothing of it. Then when I opened it, well look below. The up side, the game saves, it retains all the saves too, and doesn't have some cheap battery in that'll die and erase everything with it. My plan is to keep this, I'm not mailing bootleg stuff back through the mail overseas and they clearly are sandbagging, but I"ll go for my money back too. If they were up front and it was like $10 (as it's a $30-40 game) I'd let it slide, but, they lied and now they're keeping quiet.

Used my iphone5s for that, but it's clear enough.

CRT...Is this how your Invader looks? I've been hoping to find a bootleg of that one too because the legit price is pure crap at $150+ for a lousy GBA game. I really wish I understood why it was up there while other EU only games are not as I've got a few.

The one in the ebay link I've seen before, seems there's satisfied customers with it not complaining of bad parts or failures so it's worth it I imagine. I just have no interest in paying more than probably 1/2 what they're asking for a loose game shipped since it's a fake. I would be curious how the insides of one of those is constructed. Perhaps someone over at GBAtemp would be knowledgeable about it because they're the most up on anything of the sort with GBA stuff legit and pirate. I've had an account there for an extremely long time (11 years.)

Ebay link looks like printed art in DS case, no? $50 is up there for a bootleg cart. Your call, son.

According to the link tanooki provided, that's about eighteen U.S. dollars. That's still a little more than I would pay for a bootleg of Alien Hominid. If it was ten or twelve bucks, I'd be happy to pay that price. I wish the original creators of Alien Hominid would produce new GBA cartridges for us to buy so we could give our money to the right people. I'd probably pay twenty or twenty-five dollars for a legit cartridge.

Ah, so it is.

When I first looked at it I thought it was a printed and folded cardboard box.

I need to pay more attention it seems.

It's both. Look at the sixth picture. Looks like a slip case over a DS case. The DS case artwork looks like it was printed too small though.

It was less, US $12.26 game, US $7.66 shipping. The thing is, the listing was a lie, that's why I went after it for a fraud listing, not so much the price. Had they listed it like the Invader copies (gray cart, or the blue in the case) as a fan made copy or whatever other buzz word I'd have put a lower offer in and went for it.

As far as the one linked in the first post, you're right it's a DS case, and it has a slip cover. Not only is the DS case art cut short on all sides, but the poor label on the blue cart has square edges and it's also wider than the sticker indentation on the plastic too. It's a lazy release to make a buck which is why I never gave it a look, especially at $50. If/when I get Invader since i refuse to pay $150 for a legit one, I'll get the gray knockoff shown in this thread as i've seen it go as low as a few dollars if one slips by but usually around $15~ if I remember right.

i offered 'em $25, they countered at $45, i offered $30, then they went to $40 and said that was as low as they would go. i told them we hadn't reached the middle yet and offered $35. they were not amused.

i might still pick one up. really want this game.
