If you guys haven't already seen this, it's totally worth watching. Think you already know about the Dendy Famiclones? I did, and this documentary taught me a lot more. Watch as a Russian classic gamer recalls memories of SECAM induced woes, Famiclone design flaws, and much more in this whirlwind documentary of one of the biggest names in Famiclones.
Enjoy!

Hey, Satoshi - I never noticed you were part of the racketboy community, lol. I'm still waiting for that top 100 nes game list

The Dendy definitely looks like a cool clone, but I couldn't understand those guys were saying (didn't see any subs).

Don't worry, that's still coming. I've been super busy with school lately so hence the 3+ week delays between parts. I'll do my best to get the next part up this weekend.

I'm super necro-bumping this because I just discovered it and have been watching the videos on this channel all day. Its really fascinating stuff seeing how different video games were in Russia, where your only choices were piracy and even the most "legitimate" company was simply a pirate clone retailer as well.
If you're interested at all about vintage pirate games this is worth checking out. It's worth it just to see gaming from a perspective vastly different from what we're used to.
The documentary linked here takes some inspiration from AVGN but it was generally entertaining. I like some of the stand-alone videos more. In one he goes over all of the hacked pirate Mario games and how they were passed off as official, even to the point where on a TV video game show a Mario hack of Joe & Mac was passed off as the original game and Joe & Mac was called the pirate!
