I just read this article on 1up.com and thought I'd start a thread to find out more about what old import SNES titles have seen a proper fan translation years later. Any other suggestions besides these?

Satellaview
Umihara Kawase
Bahamut Lagoon
Gunman's Proof
Wonder Project J
Treasure Hunter G

Seiken Densetsu 3 perhaps? Pretty big omission there on 1up's part.
Emerald Dragon, Mystic Ark, Treasure of the Rudras .. there are too many to list.

A lot of games listed on the left here look awesome to me:

http://www.dynamic-designs.us/index.shtmlhttp://www.fantasyanime.com/garden/translations2.htmSeiken Densetsu 3 is King.
I've played bits of Live A Live, The Pirates of Dark Water (very strange), Star Ocean, Tales of Phantasia, and a handful of others.
Maybe worth a mention, but some people dumped the Tactics Ogre PSX script into the SNES rom, which is the better version if you ask me (no loading and better sound, believe it or not).

I know a lot of folks are fans of the Saturn RPG, but the Super Famicom Magic Knights Rayearth RPG isn't bad either. It's pretty easy though, so I'd recommend it for beginners in the genre.

I dunno about best, but my first experience was with FFV. That was about the coolest thing as fan translations and emulation was budding years ago.

Famicom Detective Club Part 2. The translation is done by the incredible Tomato, and the game is one of the best hidden gems on the Super Famicom to boot.
Check out my review for more.

Der Langrisser
Do-Re-Mi Fantasy: Milon's Quest
Dragon Quest I+II (nice to have updated graphics)
Fire Emblem: Monshou no Nazo
Front Mission
Front Mission: Gun Hazard
