best GBA experience?

okay for real: i just got rid of my model 1 DS because i didn't care for the clunky design anymore. my questions to you fine folks is this: what's the best way to play GBA games? what do you use? positives/negatives? i'm mainly concerned with the differences between the DS lite, the GBSP, and the GB micro. which would you pick up?

the micro is only 50 bucks, but no backwards compatibility. SP has that but doesn't have the hi-quality display due to the light (washout, etc). playing GBA on my old DS pissed me off, WHY IS THERE ANOTHER SCREEN?!?!?! but then again i haven't used a DS lite, so yeah. let me know what you think. opinions appreciated.

Seriously, this is the overall best option for GBA games. Thats why it costs more than the Micro despite being older. The screen is bigger than Micro's and absolutely stomps DS1's. It's about on par with DS Lite's screens.

Other than that, the only things that bring is down are slight motion blur that the old front lit screens didn't have, and sunlight actually makes it very hard to see the screen, again due to the backlight and scientific reasons I cant fathom.

I just use my DS. It's got a second screen for when you play DS. Honestly, if you want backwards compatability, just get one of the newer SPs. They're pretty nice I hear. If not, go for a micro. They're great too. The screen seems small, but the games look great on it and the thing's tiny! cool.

I have a NES Edition GBA SP, but yeah, he back light on it really isn't that great sadly. I'm not too fond of the SP shape either, actually, it's too small for my hands XD

I go for the GBA SP2 too, the screen on the DS lite gets cropped on the edges

Personally I use either a launch GBA, my prefered style, or one of my Gameboy Players. Micros are quite nice, but that model 2 of the SP is going to be your best bet. If only I could get one of those and a flashcart...

Yeah, I've always wondered why it's hard for me to see on my DS while in sunlight.
Use to be you had to have direct sunlight on my original GBA to see clearly. Now its the direct opposite...

is the screen on the SP2 actually "backlit" or is it like the original sp but with a brighter bulb washing out the colors? i used to have a gold toys r us edition sp1 and i loved the design but i hated the screen.

i'll try one out sometime. i'm sure that's what i'll pick up.

It says backlit, so it's backlit. I've seen SP2 side by side with a PSP, DS, and DS Lite. The SP2 and DS Lite have, by far, the best quality screens.
