so discussion over on the GC exclusive topic made me realize the necessity of the question,
What other games out there have their best version on the gamecube?
because of graphics, sound, gameplay updates, native 4 player gameplay vs PS2, etc....
so far the list includes
Killer 7 (PS2)
Resident Evil 4 (PS2)
Skies of Arcadia Legends (DC)
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (DC)
Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut (DC)
Soul Caliber II (PS2, Xbox)
Time Splitters 2 (PS2, Xbox)
Viewtiful Joe (PS2)
Viewtiful Joe 2 (PS2)

Eh, just because a console is more stable than a PC, I'd list Sonic Adventure DX. Leave out the Twin Snakes, it's a whole new game. Remakes and ports are different. You can port Metal Gear Solid to the GCN and it would look like the emulated DC version, but the remake utilizes the graphic engine used in Metal Gear Solid 2, and even though everything looks just about the same camera angle wise, it is a new game.
Metal is right about Soul Calibur II, Link was the best exclusive character. My only problem is the controller.

I'm sure there is a better 3rd party controller for Megaman on the PS2. Be equal, all games listed should not be there simply because you can buy a controller for it to make it easier to play.
Do us all a favor and stick to the original hardware, or I'll have to bring up Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO as the most "complete" version of the game. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who would cringe at the thought of that.

Im gonna agree that 3rd party controller shouldn't be the basis for inclusion on the list, tho first party hardware could be a reason (native 4 player on GC)
I have to admit I am not a big fan of the GC controller, but I think if I spent some time with it, that may change.

well, it was an official nintendo product. Not too many things get that kindof status. Third party products don't usually get a seal which states it being an officially licensed product, just maybe a seal of quality. Are you saying that official nintendo products shouldn't be thought of? :p So does that mean no bongos? No gameboyplayers? And I am sure that the hori pad is the best 2D game solution. Third party controllers suck on the PS2 (as they do on almost all consoles), and the only thing better would be an arcade stick, which I would not want to play megaman with. But for fighting games, SC2 is also great with a hori pad. Now the reason I say that is because the amount of arcade sticks is plentiful on the PS2 and there are multiple that would work on every console (like the Xarcade stick). That and even on the hori pad, the buttons are confugured the same, so it's still a little bit awkward. But 3D fighters aren't really all that bad with an analog stick. The only ones that really take a hit are 2D ones.
I'm not so sure I agree with your arguement, first because MGS: tTS and RE4 are the same situation to me and why should extra pheripherals not be coinsidered into games? The xbox was able to do HD, so shouldn't you think about that when choosing games that are best on a certain console where third party games and non-exclusives are involved? It's quite an important thing and costs around the same as controller, depending on the route you go of course.
