Four new battle arenas for SNES Super Mario Kart

Post by racketboy »

From Siliconera:
"Even though most of the world has moved on from Super Mario Kart to Mario Kart DS or Mario Kart Double Dash, OK Impala has a new enhancement for the classic kart racing game. The Super Mario Kart – Impala Battles patch adds in four new battle mode stages to play on. "

Ok this needs to happen for a lot of retro games. I'm tired of all the failed hacking attempts. People always try to make a brand new game and then give up after 3 levels are done. This is what homebrew hackers should be doing; expanding to the games, rather than replacing them. I'd love to see some NES games expanded a bit, like Contra. It would be great if someone would throw in some additional levels with climates and themes which weren't covered originally.

Edit: Can anyone get this to work? It screws up my ROM. I have the USA copy but maybe there was a revision of it or something. This patch screws up my game. Levels don't load.

I wish their were more battle arenas for the cube version, though I doubt will see hacks for that any time soon.
