So you're rocking s video also?
Yeah, reading the reviews some folks got a third party adapter. I could always PM the sellers asking for a pic to ensure it's OEM. I want to teat the s video first.

Yep, on 2 TV's no less (one just has arcade games and a couple emulators on it).
I mostly keep the component for when I feel like a widescreen LCD fix. Sometimes I use it for Steel Batallion setup on an HD tube TV.

I'm probably the only guy in my rural area that even knows what the connection is anymore.
Now PS3/360 on up is a different story. They need component or HDMI just so that you can read the in game text properly.
Xbox is the happy medium with good options, accommodating most of your TV inputs. I only fear that component will be fazed out completely one day.
On another note:
Eventually, I want to get some more SCART cables for use with my other signal converters. Currently I just have one for Genesis.
But even S-video is upscaled fairly nice using my X-RGB 3. Standard A/V, not so much.

Pic below. Hard to capture. It's actually worse in person. Look just above the lower horizontal tree branch & then right at the second level of the dock. There's usually a couple traveling up and down.
Same problem you're having WAR?
I might settle for s video for the time being. I can always pick up pawn shop TVs in the future with more "older" inputs. Eventually I'll pick up a XRGB or OSCC. $50-$60 on a single cable could go towards another TV in the future or one of the scalers/line doublers.
