Very good point, I forgot about that.
I also want to mention, there are a fair amount of JRPGs for the Vita that aren't ecchi-centric. Especially action-RPGs. If you're a fan of that genre check out the Vita. A few off the top of my head:
Odin Sphere Leifthrasir Ys: Memories of Celceta Muramasa Rebirth The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Soul Sacrifice Tales of Hearts R Sword Art Online: Lost Song Freedom Wars Ragnarok Odyssey ACE Dungeon Hunter: Alliance (not JRPG, but is action-RPG) Valhalla Knights 3
Yeah, Ys and Tales of Hearts R were two of the games I got the system for. I also got Muramasa, and Persona 4: Golden is the best version of that game. It seems that more of the RPGs that appeal to me ended up on the 3DS, though.

If you go into the system settings you can find it in there.
Vita games ship with their respective required firmware. So your Vita will update its firmware using that method if the game requires a more recent version. You can also of course download firmware updates from the internet (system update).
