I'm thinking about ordering a cap replacement kit instead of doing the legwork ordering them separately for my Sega Genesis Model 1. I'm also thinking about doing the S-Video mod at the same time. Anyone got advice on the best place to order from? I've come across console5.com, but I don't know how legit they are.
Really, this is a way for me to stretch my rusty soldering skills. I was never an expert, but I was pretty decent at it when I was teaching Microprocessors labs. This is a spare, by the way, so if I somehow nuke it, it's not going to be a great loss.

Re: Best place for parts?
I've heard nothing but good things about console5.com, personally.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!

Re: Best place for parts?
console5 is fantastic.
Re: Best place for parts?
Awesome. Figure that's what I'll do then. And the revision of mine should be S-Video compatible regardless of the video encoder (it's either a VA6.5 or VA6.8 ).
EDIT: Just popped 'er open, it's a Sony CXA1145. Sweet!
EDIT 2: Well, poop, they're out of the cap kit for my model. Guess I'll just wait a bit!
EDIT 3: And ordered. Thanks, y'all.
