MAME Arcade Help

So I have a mame arcade and a complete set of roms, but I have some issues that have been there since I made the cab in 2008.

My main question is when playing any CHD roms (Street Fighter 3: Third Strike) it takes forever to load the rom just to play. Is there any way to speed up the process without waiting every time me or my kids want to play?

I think pressing insert on the keyboard speeds up the emulation. Or, make a savestate at the intro.
