My wife and I really enjoyed Fast Color (2018), which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime. It’s billed as a superhero film, but it really isn’t one at all. It’s more of an alternate future / past sci-fi story reminiscent of the book The Girl with the Silver Eyes, thematically, and the film Logan, tonally. It is very well-acted by a largely African-American cast and beautifully directed, and I don’t hesitate to recommend it to everyone here.

Cool. It’s an indie film; so, while the special effects are good, they’re not mind-blowing. The story and performances more than make up for it, though. I’m curious to read your impressions of it!

Watched Dead Don't Die in Dallas, a so-so zombie flick starring drag performer Willam Belli.
And rewatched Phantasm: Ravager.

Good timing! I watched The Mummy (1999) with my children the other day, and I thought it held up too. (I deceived it as the third or fourth best Indiana Jones movie, depending on how you feel about Temple of Doom.) It was a lot of campy fun, and we all really enjoyed it. (Also, Rachel Weisz looks amazing even if, as my wife pointed out, her eyebrows, in accordance with late 1990s fashion, are way, way too thin.)

To be fair thin eyebrows was a huge thing in the 20s and 30s so they should get points for accuracy based on the film's setting.
There's actually a movie tie-in game of The Mummy that looks like a Tomb Raider bootleg. Kind of tempted to try it.

The GBC video game tie-in is remarkably good. Here’s an old IGN review:

It's Wednesday! That means new write-up day!
Witchcraft

The first film in a franchise that currently totals 16 films.
Let's just say I'm not in too big a hurry to watch any of the other ones.

Batman and Harley Quinn, though why Batman gets top billing in what is obviously a decent Harley Quinn animated film is beyond me.
Also, not a film but the 1982 filmed production of Sweeney Todd is on BroadwayHD in celebration of Stephen Sondheim's forthcoming 90th birthday. Angela Lansbury is marvelous as Mrs. Lovett and George Hearn is great as Sweeney Todd, a role he later plays in Sweeney Todd in Concert, alongside Patti Lupone.
