Is it morally wrong to enjoy watching stupid people suffer?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Yes it would appear that it's a subdomain of www.chevelles.net. There is no transferral of a subdomain. Period.

They would be idiots to even bother looking elsewhere. Plus domains ain't cheap. Especially .net ones!

there is no huge cost for a domain... not even a .net

but anyways

whoever runs chevelles.net could (if they wanted to) point dns records for the subdomain to the ip of the new hosting company.

or they could setup dns record to point to www.whatevertheshit.com/net/org

Yeah, I checked with the owners of chevelles.net and they said they could provide a redirect, for a fee.

But really, the point is, why would you want to move away from a site that has no specific affiliation with any given member which provides unlimited space and throughput for FREE only to move to a location owned by a member (who might quit the club someday) and either have to change the URL or pay a redirect fee? It just goes to show these yahoos don't know squat about running a website and have alienated the only person in their group that does.

I had to look the word "schadenfreude" up. I like it! And I entirely agree and that's what I'm doing. Anger only gives me heartburn!

Schadenfreude: A concept so inherently German that translation would ruin it.
Comics, RPG's, miniatures, and now retrogaming? I guess its time to learn to go without eating...

I'd say enjoy the schadenfreude. Don't delete anything because that heads into "no better than the enemy" territory. But hey, you got screwed. Keep copies of your work, but if something gets messed up and deleted by their mistake, either don't provide backup or charge them for it. Since you don't think the guy they tricked into replacing you is a bad guy, maybe warn him that you got screwed and you're no longer going to help and to watch his back too in case they try to blame him.
