IGN's Top 25 Xbox 360 Games
Re: IGN's Top 25 Xbox 360 Games
@Gamerforlife I think Team SOHO was the only developer house that bothered to simulate damage to the protagonist in their Getaway series.

I'm disappointed to see multi-platform titles here. Multi-platform titles do not define a system.
I was hoping to see some eye-opening exclusives here, but instead all I'm seeing are a bunch of multi-plats and obvious exclusives. They've already got everything except 1-5 up now, and so far I haven't seen Earth Defense Force 2017 - one of those obscure exclusives that really makes me want the system. I was hoping to see more of its ilk in this list.
Calling it now - GTA4 will be number 1.

Oblivion is #4, Fallout 3 #3 and Mass Effect #1. Those are all great games. Fallout 3 should have been #1 imo.
Thinking it over Fallout 3 should not have been #1. If it did not have level scaling then it should have been #1.

Wow, I was actually right when I thought Mass Effect would be #1. It's a great game. So is Fallout, but I like Oblivion more.

A little late to respond, but I'll have to check that out sometime. I don't know why, but in the last few years I have found myself getting increasingly frustrated by how laughably unrealistic games are. Maybe it's because of all that "next gen" talk I heard when this current generation of consoles came out. It's made me a bit more demanding of my games and for the most part, the so called "next gen" of games has had the same old tired gameplay conventions but with better, high def graphics.Pulsar_t wrote:@Gamerforlife I think Team SOHO was the only developer house that bothered to simulate damage to the protagonist in their Getaway series.
I can't help but feel like this is one the things that keeps our medium from seeming more mature and evolved when compared to others. You will never see a character in a movie go through a gun fight getting shot five or six times and just shrug it off and grab some oddly placed white box with a red cross on it every couple seconds for no apparent reason. It just irritates me so much because people keep talking about games being more cinematic and I just proved that is false. And all the talk of immersion is also a joke.
I should stop, as this sort of deserves its own topic.
