Its not Craigslist that's the problem, its ignorant people posting useless ads or scams.

vague ads are also the way to score a real deal. i replied to one person selling 40 games for $20. no list, no system specified, no photos. the ad sat there for a week or two before i decided to check it out. i ended up getting over $2k for everything even after i kept 10 of the games.

exactly, it's the equivalent of the local classifieds in your newspaper... do people even use those anymore? heh...

I've never used craigslist for buying videogames... but I have used it for other things. While in LA it was an awesome way to find roommates. Craigslist hooked me up with a place to live before I even headed that direction, I literally pulled into town and right into the driveway of the place I set up to live.

Here in South Florida craigslist isn't as good, it just really hasn't hit on with the locals. It's still pretty good in my opinion, but after using craigslist from other areas it really leaves a lot to ask for. Your craigslist all really depends on the area you are located (that is unless you are searching craigslist with no concern for location).

My friends and my favourite thing to do with craigslist is to look for those really creepy people looking for "company". This one guy was willing to pay 50 dollars, gas money, and buy drinks and dinner... just to hang out for the night... he had no friends or some crap. Or this other guy offered 500 dollars to anyone who, check this, come over his house, the door will be open, just walk in, get naked, sit down in front of his television and watch porn for a half hour, then just leave. No communication, he doesn't want to talk, nothing... just watch some of his porn naked in his living room (of course he is watching you from some dark corner).

Not that we do these things, they're just fun to read.

I can't imagine someone doing those things. I would be concerned about some crazy like Jeffrey Dahmer placing those type of ads.

Recently I had some work done on my house which involved disposing of bricks from a 2 story fireplace. The dumpster wasn't placed next to the chimney so the bricks needed to be wheelbarrowed about 70 feet. My contractor placed an ad on Craigslist looking for someone to move the bricks for $100. He got a few responses and the next day, two men showed up and worked ~4 hours moving the bricks. They did an excellent job and definitely earned the money in my book.

I have had moderate luck with the "I have 5 games come get them" people. Last time I got 10 ps1 games for $20 and Tales of Destiny and Saga Frontier were in there. It's a lot like gambling.
