I finished Ys III on Super Famicom and found it kind of lackluster. I think I maxed out my stats too early, because the game became rather easy. The only boss fight where I didn't just have to equip a ring and run up Rambo style was the final boss, which still wasn't that difficult. I enjoyed the story more than the gameplay in this one even though it was a simple story. I think I would have had a better experience if it wasn't on Super Famicom since the hit detection seemed a little wonky. I still enjoyed playing the game though and I'm glad I picked it up because I'm really getting into the series after I played seven. It looks like Oath is worth plaything through as well, and I'll give it a go, but it might not be for a while.

I have Ys I & II Chronicles on PSP, so I'll probably jump into those after I'm done with my current PSP game (hate switching UMDs - will never finish games if I do).

Oath PC: Currently in Valestine Castle, I think I'm almost to the Clock Tower part. Love the music here, keeps ya pumped.

I flipped between all three soundtrack choices. I think I like the X68000 score the best overall.

Love the music in this game, yet another reason why I need to pick up the Turbo CD version eventually. It's hard to beat those Turbo soundtracks.

I hit the Boost to give me a few extra hit points so that I could survive at the end of the battle.

Been too busy, need to dive back into this one. I think I need to head back to the mines or something?

Oath PC: I'm at the black throne now.* I'm level 50. Not sure if I'm the right level for this or not. I'll probably do a bit more grinding, as is this game's wont.

*It's called the black throne in the fan translated version, which is what I'm playing. I don't know what it's called in the Steam version.

I'm pretty sure XSEED essentially purchased the fan translation, but don't quote me on that. They could have tweaked and changed some things as well.

Are you playing a physical PC copy? I'd like to get one but they are pricey.
