if you can play another port I'd encourage you to. The SNES port is supposedly the worst version...
Oh.
I doubt the DSi emulates the Sega CD... Hmm ... I'll have to think about it.

The SNES port is alright. The only major downside is that it is awkward with the SNES controller. It's certainly a game designed for the mouse. Also, the Sega CD music totally slays.

I'm a little bummed no one else is getting into this!

noise, Ack, Stark, John, Bone, CFFJR - you all suggested interest, so step up!

More than anything I'd like to know if other folks had a similar experience to what I had...

First 2-3 floors and 3-4 hours: frustration, confusion, learning, and reading a lot online

Floors 4-8 or so and the next 3-4 hours
: engagement, reward, exploration, and sense of accomplishment (and regularly referencing maps)

Floors 9-12 and the last 3-4 hours: intense devotion in one long play session that kept me up until 3am to get to the final boss and OMG this game is fucking addictive and awesome (and near impossible without some peeks at the official guide)

It really is a fairly short game that is worth your time between now and the 11th. 10-20 hours should do it for almost anyone. Get on it :)

Stark, psp can emulate scd... but you prob got rid of yr psp when you got a vita huh?

Dave, I do keep meaning to give it a fair shot. I think if others jump in I will feel more motivated.

I have a PSP-3000 (the sweet Metal Gear one), although I haven't turned it on since well before I got a Vita.

FYI, at around the midway point you'll have the option to add and revive players, so if someone dies don't sweat it too much. I played through about 3-4 floors with a party of 3 when my mage bit it.

Finished level 2 last night. Very straightforward and simple dungeon crawler. Combat cant get any more barebones, but thats ok. Picking up and restocking my arrows is kind of annoying. The UI is so clunky but thats to be expected.
