Sega history
How did Sega go from being an American company in Japan to a straight Japanese company? When ever I read anything about Sega's history, which is not much, they mention how Sega was originally formed by two Americans as Service Games and was set up to import jukeboxes and pinball machines to military bases in Japan and then leave it at that. Well how did they go from that to the Sega we are more familiar with?

Dick Stewart and Ray LaMaire of Service Games, David Rosen Photorama Enterprises and Taito merger. I think there was always Japanese influence from the start. SEGA was an alliance ownership of investors, even Gulf Western Oil then Bally Midway. Hayao Nakayama, the chief investor became CEO in March 1984. This happened after the launch of the Nintendo Famicom.

And Taito was started by a Russian living in Japan, right? So Taito has something to do with Sega? I thought it was two completely different companies.

That's nothing. Radio Shack was once a leather company started by a Russian-American immigrant. Go figure.

Yeah business and companies can have founding that end up complete different from what we see now.
A&F used to be an outdoor outlet, I thought I saw an old jacket of my dad that was from A&F!
