And here I thought you were building some sort of platform on which to set your Genesis.

Barry the Nomad wrote: I think the need to replace American terms with Euro or Japanese terms begins otaku fanboys who insist on pronouncing character names in katakana , such as Sonniku instead of Sonic. Sort of brings them closer to a country that they love mentally and away from the country that they live in physically.
The correct term for these people is weeboo. They are also known as those kids in your class with the ninja cartoon keychains and bad hygene.

The only thing I like about the mega drive is the logo. What I mean is, the name genesis is far superior what with its awe inspiring arrangement of syllabuls and consonants but the logo they fabricated to convey that awe is pure shit. I HATE the genesis logo, passionately. Mega Drive on the other hand is a perfect example of graphical genius.

On a seperate note, I find that the more time I spend in message boards etc the more likely I am to use the term "cheers" Its just such an awesome convey what ever the hell it is that "cheers" is supposed to mean :D

Am I going to start referring to the NES as the Famicom? Uh, no. The losers who would pick a fight over this are the same idiots who sign Internet petitions to stop L4D2 or to change the art style of Diablo 3.

Yeah, I've always had the metality to call US games Genesis games and everything else MegaDrive games.

I play Sonic and Streets Of Rage on my Genesis therefore they are Genesis games, however if I import let's say Pulseman then I am playing a Japanese MegaDrive game on my Genesis console.

There we go cut and dry and simple as shit, now on the other hand the weeaboo's that perpetuate the fucking MegaDrive > Genesis stereotype instead of simply saying something online like "This game was released for the Genesis or for all you foreign gamers the MegaDrive." in an online review or something need to all be shot or burned at the stake.

Until an ebay auction for a Mega Drive turns out to be a Genesis, but the seller preferred the name Mega Drive.

Never heard of the term "weeaboo". but it sounds greasy. I'll admit, I had a weeaboo phase for about a week in high school, then I met another weeaboo and hated myself. So I did a reverse weeaboo and totally mispronounced Japanese words and made an Al Gore anime featuring stick figures in baggy pants.

We've all been there, but I tend to try to keep everythig pronounced correctly, name everything appropriately when going across different regions and whatnot without being a dick about it and respecting everyone's opinion on the subject at hand.
