Re: Assmilate NES Homebrew: Available 3-17
The opening "He are sent on mission" was on purpose I'd assume. Yep! All the cutscenes in the game are written as a sort of tribute to the translation (or lack thereof) of the earliest NES titles. The death message is similarly written as the same kind of parody. Am I wrong to say that th...

Re: Pay to see ending of Final Fantasy XIII-2
Not be negative, but immediately hearing upon FFXIII-2's release the first thing that hit my mind was "complete waste of time." And I'm one of the few who actually liked FFXIII! I'd had my problems with some of the recent installments, but really? The end of FFXIII summed up everything pre...

Re: Names On Carts
Interestingly, I never did this, either. I seem to find it more in more these days when buying old used carts, though. I always wonder what the purpose was. My buddies and I would swap games all the time as kids, but we all had so few that it was easily remembered who's was who's.

Re: Nerds and Male Privilege
I see more and more things like this popping up. I never know whether to treat them like valid arguments that have useful nuggets of thought/suggestion within them or just another fellow nerd rushing to flog themselves. I can say I got really tired of reading the word, "Y'see" and there we...

Re: Lives & Continues
I'm of the opinion that modern mario games only have a lives system because the 1up mushroom is such an iconic image of gaming. Yeah, especially in 3D Land. I think I ended up racking up over 250 lives in that game. It was almost like a score or something. Half of them got taken care of one day whe...

Re: Just read The Masters of Doom
Dude, I dig gaming history books and was completely unaware of this one! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I think I'll need to grab a copy off amazon now.

Re: What are you playing?
Skyrim. For those of you not familiar with it, it's an evil mind-control device developed by the CIA. I think I currently have about 65 hours logged on it, and as far as I can tell I've barely even touched the main quest. I just keep getting distracted by everything else in the game.

Looks good. Any chance of adding a homebrew/unlicensed section?
